Do you need to combine family photos into a classy slide-show, or turn business pictures into a spectacular presentation? Kai's Power Show can do either job impressively. The starting point is photographs, or other pictures, to be combined into a show. All sorts of text effects can be added, including animations that make the text appear on character at a time, or fading in and out between pictures.

Over 100 sound clips are included, so sounds like breaking waves, dreamy music, children laughing and applause can accompany show elements. The sound library can also be expanded with your own clips.

In Show, functions and tools are organised into four "rooms": In, Sort, Edit and finally the Out room. The In room walks the user through the process of importing photos, pictures, business slides and video clips. The Sort room helps to sort, select and place these in the desired order. The Edit room is the most interesting, because it is in here that text effects and sound clips are added. The Out room is where the show can be saved, played or printed. The interface takes a little getting used to, but it is visually stunning and works well with practice. Shows are saved in a proprietary format, but MetaCreations provides viewers for PC and Macintosh which so that shows can be distributed to those who do not have Show installed. Show has huge potential to test creative ideas and allow any PC user to become the sound technician, scriptwriter and artistic director of an on-screen show.
