The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the April-to-June 2005 period was up 0.9 per cent on the preceding three months, according to the CSO today.

On an annual basis production for all industries in June was 0.4 per cent higher than the same period last year.

The "modern sector", comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for June 2005 of 0.5 per cent, while an increase of 0.3 per cent was recorded in the "traditional" sector.

The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was 2 per cent higher in the three-month period April to June 2005 when compared with the preceding three month period.
