A brother of the executed Nigerian human rights activist, Ken Saro Wiwa, has called on the Government to press for the expulsion of the Shell oil company from Nigeria.

Dr Owen Wiwa was speaking at a protest at Birr Castle, Co Offaly, where he criticised plans by the castle owners to accept sponsorship from Shell for a science centre.

The Green Party has called on local authorities to boycott Shell products until the demands of the Ogoni people in Nigeria are met. These include compensation for alleged environmental damage.
