Poor status of women scientists

A recently-issued European Commission report paints a bleak picture of the status of women scientists

A recently-issued European Commission report paints a bleak picture of the status of women scientists. Produced by ETAN, the EU women in science network, it notes there are only three living female Nobel Prize-winners in the sciences. The Irish Times Careers and Guidance Correspondent, Anne Byrne, was in Brussels last week for the presentation of the paper, and reports on its findings in the Education and Living supplement published with tomorrow's newspaper.
