Poll shows support for Yes vote in referendum

A poll of voters in the Donegal South West constituency shows the electorate strongly leaning towards a Yes vote in the upcoming abortion referendum.

Of the 400 voters questioned, 59 per cent said they would be voting yes, compared to 21 per cent who intend to vote against the proposal.

The ‘don’t knows’ number 16 per cent, with the remaining four per cent indicating they will not vote.

The opinion poll, carried out jointly by TG4 and MRBI, shows more women than men in favour of the referendum.

However, the results contrast strongly with those of a similar poll in the constituency of Dublin South East by the Irish Independent, which shows almost 50 per cent of voters intending to reject the amendment.
