Three men are helping police with their inquiries after a 55-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly today during a robbery at his home in Co Down last night.

Three men forced their way into the property in Mourneview Park, near Newry town centre, after the victim answered his door during the night.

Police said the thieves demanded cash and once inside the house stabbed the man a number of times.

"They then made their escape on foot with a small amount of cash."
