Police are investigating two attacks involving a youth wielding a hammer who attacked a group of people at Bankmore Street in east Belfast yesterday, hitting one man in the face and breaking his teeth. Half an hour later, a man was attacked as he walked along Ormeau Avenue. An RUC spokesman said the youth was aged between 17 and 19, around 5 ft 5 in tall, with short fair hair.
