A CALL for reform of libel and defamation and a general reform of media law was made by the PD candidate for Cork South Central, Mr Tom Coughlan, yesterday.
The libel laws were highly restrictive and discouraged genuine political debate, he said.
The PDs are committed to libel law reform and have tabled a Bill on it in the Dail.
