ENGLISH anti roads campaigner Swampy abseiled down a cliff on the site of the proposed second runway at Manchester Airport yesterday and announced he would be standing in the general election.

He is contesting the Blackley constituency in north Manchester for the Never Mind The Ballots Party. The Labour candidate, Graham Stringer, is chair of Manchester Airport plc.
