SUPERMODEL Naomi Campbell has thrown the first punch in a fight to knock Rocky star Sylvester Stallone off the top of London's themed restaurant rankings.

She was in Piccadilly yesterday to mark the start of building work on Europe's first Fashion Cafe. The restaurant, due to open this summer, will be the latest in a global chain of Fashion Cafes being set up by Naomi and fellow catwalk stars Claudia Schiffer, Elle Macpherson and Christy Turlington.

The Coventry Street site is across the street from the London branch of Planet Hollywood, the successful cinema theme restaurant opened by Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Kevin Maxwell has failed to stop publication by HarperCollins of a novel he argued portrays his late father, the media baron Robert Maxwell. He had asked the British Attorney General to ban the book because it could prejudice his chances in a pending fraud trial.
