Gardai in Nenagh, Co Tipperary have named the pedestrian who was fatally injured after the accident last evening.
Mr Michael Dennedy (34) from St Marys Park, Athlone, Co Westmeath died when he was struck by a car on the Carrigatoher road near Nenagh at 6.30 p.m.
