A pedestrian died in Co Limerick this afternoon after he was hit by a wheel which became unattached from a passing truck.
The man in his 60s died in the incident at Ballybrown, Carina, at 4.10 p.m. He was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital but died of his injuries.
A Garda spokeswoman said the driver of the lorry was in a state of shock.
