A pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by a truck in Athlone this morning.
The woman, who was in her sixties, was hit by the truck in St Mary's Square at around 11.45am. She was brought to Portiunculla Hospital in Ballinasloe but was declared dead on arrival.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
