Irish mobile computer chip designer Parthus Technologies today announced a major licensing and royalty agreement with STMicroelectronics.
Under the terms of the deal, STMicroelectronics, the world's sixth-largest chip manufacturer, will license the complete Parthus portfolio of mobile content application platforms.
Parthus chief executive Mr Brian Long said: "This is our largest and most significant licence agreement to date and greatly validates our long term licence and royalty strategy with one of the world¹s largest semi-conductor companies."
Today's agreement was welcomed by the market as Parthus shares rose 5.7 per cent to £1.03 in London this morning.
