GARDAÍ ARE seeking assistance from the public in tracking down two raiders who stole money from a Dublin City Council van which was collecting coins from parking meters in the north inner city.

Two council security men were threatened with knives in the raid in the Kings Inns area at 1.20pm on Wednesday. The raiders forced the men into the back of the van and escaped in it before abandoning it on Dominick Street.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed anything unusual or have information to contact Store Street Garda station on (01) 6668000. Business people or staff at financial institutions approached by anyone seeking to change an unusually large number of coins are asked to come forward.
