A teenager was dragged into his garden by five men last night and told he would be shot.

The 18-year-old had answered a knock at his door in the White Rise estate area of Lisburn, Co Antrim.

A police spokeswoman said: "The males produced two handguns and threatened to shoot the victim." A scuffle ensued shortly after 7.30pm, and the gang - who were wearing dark jackets, hats and gloves - ran off.

The victim sustained minor injuries in the incident, which detectives are treating as a paramilitary-style attack. No shots were fired and it is understood the suspects left the scene in two vehicles.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old man was injured in a paramilitary-style shooting in Bangor, Co Down.

The attack happened in the Kilclief Gardens area as the victim walked along an alleyway. He was attacked around 9.30pm by two men dressed in black and wearing scarves.

The PSNI said the man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his left leg.
