Pakistan is to open a diplomatic mission in Dublin, according to a foreign ministry statement issued yesterday. The Pakistani government has appointed Ms Rifat Iqbal, a director general at the ministry, as ambassador to Ireland, the statement said. Ms Iqbal (52) has previously held diplomatic assignments in Washington, the Hague and Dhaka.
