Cycling:Today's second stage of the FBD Insurance Rás has been abandoned after a crash involving five riders. Initial reports suggest a motor vehicle may have been involved in the incident.

The crash took place at the Bellavalley Gap in Leitrim as the riders made their way down the only descent of the day. One of the injured cyclists is understood to have suffered a broken leg.

With today’s stage cancelled, the overall standings will remain unchanged when the race resumes in Carrick-on-Shannon tomorrow morning.

Dan Craven currently holds the leader’s yellow jersey while Adam Armstrong is the leading Irish rider.
