Former Irish Times New York correspondent Conor O'Clery described what he was witnessing on the day of the attacks to RTÉ Radio.
O'Clery was at his desk in The Irish Times's New York office, situated in a building close to the World Trade Center plaza, when the first plane struck.
He was one of only a few journalists who was able to report from downtown Manhattan on that fateful day.
