Greg Norman struggled to a three-over-par 74 and relinquished his lead after the third round of the Kemper Open yesterday.

The 'Great White Shark' held a two-stroke lead overnight but a double-bogey, three bogeys and two birdies saw him drop back into a tie for ninth place, three shots behind co-leaders Bob Burns and Bob Estes.

"I had some problems out there," Norman said. "I could never get anything going. I'm hopeful this is my bad round."

Burns and Estes each shot 69s to finish the day on 10 under par at 203.

Jay Williamson and Bob May are one shot back and Duffy Waldorf is among four players two shots behind.

Playing infrequently on the PGA Tour since 1994 due to personal and physical problems, Burns had a round that included four birdies and two bogeys.

Burns revealed that he had never quit the Tour because: "I haven't come up with anything that pays as well. I'm not that great a fisherman."

Estes, who has three Tour career wins, does not believe he is the player to beat in the final round.

He said: "I don't think so. But only because it's so tight. If I had a three or four-shot lead, then based on how I played for the most part going back to last summer, you could maybe say that."
