THERE will be no quick reversal of the Egyptian ban on imports of live cattle from Ireland which is costing the country £80 million, writes Sean Mac Connell.

The Minister for Agriculture, Mr Yates, said yesterday he, had been in contact with his, counterpart in Egypt, Mr Walli, and he appeared to be satisfied with the report compiled by his experts who visited here last month on Irish BSE controls. "However, I do not think there will be a quick reversal of the Egyptian decision," said the Minister.
