Another man was arrested today in connection with the murder of a leading Belfast loyalist during a feud in 2000.

The 32-year-old is being questioned by detectives from the PSNI's Historic Enquiries Team about the killing of Ulster Defence Association member Tommy English in Belfast in October 2000.

English (40) was shot dead at his home in the north of the city during a feud between the UDA and the Ulster Volunteer Force.

Nine people have been arrested and charged by the HET in connection with the murder and membership of the UVF in the past few weeks.

One of them was senior UVF man and alleged police informer Mark Haddock who is in Maghaberry Prison approaching the end of a ten year sentence for assaulting a club doorman.

English was part of a loyalist delegation which took part in talks at Stormont in the lead up to the signing of the Belfast Agreement in 1998.
