Ireland and Poland have today signed an agreement to work more closely in the battle against organised crime, pledging to exchange crucial information on Mafia activities in the two countries.

The Minister for Justice Mr O'Donoghue and Polish Interior Minister Mr Marek Biernacki signed the accord in Warsaw today.

It calls for bilateral cooperation in dealing with paedophilia, pornography, money laundering, and arms and drug trafficking.

Dublin and Warsaw will also work together to stamp out illegal immigration.
