London - Millions of workers will be given new rights, including extra maternity leave and time off for family emergencies, under a Bill published yesterday.
Unions will be given the chance to win recognition deals at firms across the UK under the Employment Relations Bill, which also increases compensation levels for unfair dismissal. Unions and pressure groups broadly welcomed the measures.
