At Kilmainham District Court yesterday a 42 year old Dublin priest faced 10 new charges of indecent assault and two charges of gross indecency against two young boys. The offences are alleged to have occurred in 1980 and 1981, when one boy was aged 11 and in 1986, when the second boy was aged 13. It is claimed that all the offences were committed in the Ballyfermot, Clondalkin areas.
Two other counts against the priest of indecent assault on a 10 and 11 year old boy in 1984 and 1985 are already before the court. Judge Gillian Hussey refused jurisdiction on a number of the total of 14 charges. The priest was remanded on bail to appear before Kilmainham District Court on March 26th for submission of a book of evidence.
