The PSNI has begun a murder inquiry following the death of a 15-month-old girl from Co Fermanagh.
The baby girl was admitted to the Erne hospital in Enniskillen following what was described as a “serious assault” at Glebe Park in the Old Tempo Road area of the town on Thursday evening.
However, such was the nature of her injuries that she was transferred to Belfast, where she remained in a critical condition until her death was announced.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
