A Dublin man (33) who is charged with the murder of John McMahon on November 14th, 2007, was yesterday refused bail in the High Court by Mr Justice Barry White.

Paul Zambra, formerly of Inagh Road, Ballyfermot, had been charged with the murder of Mr McMahon at his home in Donamore Avenue, Killinarden, Tallaght, and was given a trial date of October 5th, 2012 by the Central Criminal Court.

The application was opposed by the Director of Public Prosecutions. The judge said that after hearing evidence by the gardaí and by Mr Zambra he was unable to grant bail.
