An action for damages brought against Lord Henry Mountcharles by a woman who claimed she suffered injuries at a concert at Slane Castle has been settled.

Ms Jenny Stack (38), Firhouse, Templeogue, Dublin, suffered hip injuries when three drunken men who were "pyramiding" collapsed on top of her during a Bryan Adams concert. Details of the settlement were not disclosed at the High Court in Dublin.

Her counsel told Mr Justice Kelly yesterday he was happy that the case would not trouble the court any further, and that the action could be struck out by consent on confidential terms between the parties.

Yesterday would have been the third day of the hearing.

Mr Justice Kelly was told that Ms Stack was a self-employed interior decorator and went to the concert, attended by about 40,000 people, on August 26th, 2000. She was watching the last act at about 10 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Three drunken men came from behind her and collapsed on top of her and their dead weight pinned her to the ground.

Ms Stack told the court she was unable to get them off and bit one of them in a bid to get them off. Eventually, help arrived and the men simply got themselves up, laughed and disappeared into the crowd, it was claimed.

After the incident, Ms Stack spent three weeks in Tallaght Hospital. The defence denied negligence, pleaded contributory negligence by Ms Stack and also argued that the incident was caused by third parties.
