Motorists have been warned to take care on roads across the country as Met Eireann predicts more snow in the northern half of the country.

Met Eireann said temperatures struggled to rise above freezing today in the North and between two and five centimetres of snow has fallen in many areas last night.

Road conditions in counties Antrim and Derry are described as increasingly hazardous, with lowest overnight temperatures expected to fall as low as -4 degrees.

Weather forecasters have predicted the snowfalls could continue until Monday, when temperatures are expected to rise.
