The mother of a four-year-old girl who disappeared nearly a month ago has appealed to owners of rented houses and apartments to check if their accommodation is being occupied by her daughter and former partner.
Deirdre Crowley has not been seen since she was collected from her mother's house by her father, Mr Chris Crowley, on December 4th. Speaking on RTE radio's News at One, her mother, Ms Christine O'Sullivan, said the fact that her former partner's car had been found by gardai near the Talbot Hotel in Co Wexford made her fear that he had fled to Britain with their daughter.
"A Wexford hotel is far too close to Rosslare Harbour for comfort, but I'm hoping that maybe he just dumped [the car] there and that he's actually somewhere else in the country. It's likely that he would use self-catering accommodation, so I would ask everyone to please check who's staying in any apartment, flat or house. If there's anyone matching their description there please contact the Garda."
Ms O'Sullivan last saw her daughter at 10 a.m. on December 4th when Mr Crowley picked her up. Deirdre was due to return at 5 p.m. the following day. When they did not arrive that night, Ms O'Sullivan thought they might have had an accident but is now convinced that her partner decided not to return Deirdre.
Ms O'Sullivan said Deirdre has fair, short hair and blue eyes.
