THE Minister for the Environment, Mr Howlin, yesterday opened a new £6 million road improvement project at Setright's Cross on the Limerick-Shannon road. It includes a flyover, pedestrian bridge and railway crossing. The area had become a notorious danger spot.

A representative of Clare County Council said that since the overbridge was opened 14 months ago the accident rate had dropped by 60 per cent.
