Patients in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry over the millennium weekend could literally be ringing in the New Year if the hospital's computer system crashes because of the feared millennium "bug". Senior hospital administrators have devised a "business continuity plan" for a worst-case scenario in the event of their computer system not being Y2K-compliant. They are going to issue patients with bells and spoons which patients will then use to attract the attention of nurses.
