The United Nations refugee agency said today that Chadian authorities reported at least 65 people were killed in weekend attacks by Sudanese Janjaweed militia in one village in eastern Chad.

The death toll in the village of Tiero was expected to rise further as casualty figures from Marena, another village attacked on Saturday, were expected later in the day, the UNHCR spokesman said.
