SOME 250 people marched through Milford, Co Donegal, yesterday before staging a protest inside Donegal County Council’s public service offices to protest at delays in town improvement works.
Local councillors were jeered when they came down to address the protesters.
Kenneth Bradley, of the Milford In Tatters protest group, said local people were fed up with broken promises and delays stretching back over 25 years.
Councillors claimed new off-street parking and a new link road, followed by environmental improvement works, would begin in the new year. However, locals remained sceptical and expressed anger at the way the town’s appearance had deteriorated. “The frustration has not gone away, and we will be back if you do not deliver,” Mr Bradley told councillors.
