A man was yesterday recovering in hospital with head and leg injuries after a microlight plane he was in crashed near Ballycastle in Co Antrim. It hit a tree on a laneway at Glenshesk Road. Another man in the aircraft was treated for shock.

Mr David McCaughan, who lives opposite the crash site, said the men were lucky to be alive. "I think they are extremely lucky. Twenty yards up the way and they would have hit the road," he said.
