Two men held in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old in Donaghmede, Co Dublin on Monday have been released without charge.

The men were arrested on Friday and detained for questioning at Coolock Garda station.

Shane O’Connor was found with stab wounds outside his home at St Donagh’s Road in Donaghmede at 7am on Monday. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital but died a short time later.

Mr O’Connor was known to gardaí and had been investigated twice for assaults on his girlfriend.
