The quintet of Meath players who had their eight-week suspensions upheld on Tuesday night intend taking their cases to the Central Appeals Committee.

The five will lodge appeals against the lengthy bans, handed out in the wake of the fractious league match with Dublin, which will see them potentially miss two championship matches.

Should Brendan Murphy, Nigel Crawford, Seamus Kenny, Niall McKeigue and Shane McAnarney fail to have their bans overturned, they could yet go to the Disputes Resolution Authority.

As it stands, all five will miss the Leinster opener against Carlow on May 18th and a potential second round clash with Wexford at the start of June.
