Chris McGrath, son of former Republic of Ireland defender Paul McGrath, has been named in Brian Kerr’s squad of 18 players for the Under-16 international friendly against Norway on February 14th.

McGrath, who plays his club football with Liverpool, made his debut for the Republic in a friendly game against England in Walsall last September.

McGrath also featured for the Republic in the Under-16 European Championship qualifier in Latvia last October. Ireland missed out on qualification for the tournament after a disappointing scoreless draw with Latvia and suffering a defeat to Spain.

The game against Norway will take place at United Park, Drogheda.
