The annual delegate meeting of the National Union of Journalists at Eastbourne in England last weekend unanimously elected Irish journalist Mr Christy Loftus as its president. Mr Loftus is a reporter with the Western People in Mayo. He will preside over the next annual delegate meeting in Ennis, Co Clare in April 2000.
