A man was taken to hospital tonight after a shooting in Dublin believed to be the latest in a spate of gangland attacks in the capital.
The man was shot twice by two gunmen at a house on Kilworth Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12. The shooting happened at about 7.45 p.m.
He was taken to James's Street Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. A Garda spokeswoman said the scene had been sealed off pending a technical examination and officers at Sundrive Road Garda station were investigating.
The shooting victim was known to gardaí and may have been the latest victim of criminal gang shootings in Dublin over the last three weeks.
Last week Mr Raymond Salinger (40) was shot dead as he drank with friends in Farrell's pub on New Street, in the south inner-city area. He was believed to have had connections with the illegal drugs trade.
The week before that killing Mr Niall Mulvihill, was found slumped across the wheel of his car in Dorset street after he was shot in the Spencer Dock Bridge area of Dublin.
Mr Mulvihill is understood to have operated front companies and laundered money for criminals; and was also known to gardaí.
