Man remanded over Cork murder

A man charged with fatal stabbing of another man in Co Cork last year has been remanded in custody.

A man charged with fatal stabbing of another man in Co Cork last year has been remanded in custody.

Jose Domingos (43), a Brazilian father of two with an address at Old Limerick Road, Charleville, is charged with the murder of fellow Brazilian Alberto do Prado Oliveira (47) at  Main Street, Charleville, on September 21st, 2006.

Mr Domingos was previously charged with assault causing serious harm to Mr Oliveira, a father of three, and with producing a knife capable of causing serious injury in a manner likely to intimidate during a fight on the same occasion.

Newcastlewest District Court in Co Limerick heard this morning that these charges were being withdrawn.

Judge Mary O'Halloran remanded Mr Domingos in custody to appear at the current sittings of the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.
