Man remanded on 11 charges

A man charged in connection with a drugs and firearms seizure in Limerick last week has been further remanded in custody.

A man charged in connection with a drugs and firearms seizure in Limerick last week has been further remanded in custody.

Appearing before Limerick District Court yesterday was Aidan Radmall (35), of Clonile, Old Cratloe Road, Limerick, who is facing 11 charges arising from the seizures.

Heroin and cocaine worth over €1 million, a number of high-powered weapons and ammunition were seized by gardaí following a series of raids in Limerick city eight days ago.

Five of the charges are drug-related, while six charges relate to possession of firearms and ammunition.

Mr Radmall is charged with two counts of possession of diamorphine, otherwise known as heroin, and two counts of possession of amphetamine with intent for sale or supply at Cecil Street, Limerick, on June 29th.

A fifth charge, under Section 15a of the Drugs Act, relates to possession of drugs exceeding €15,000 in value.

Mr Radmall is also charged with four firearms offences which include possession of a Glock pistol, a Scorpion machine pistol, a submachine gun and a stun gun for an unlawful purpose at Cecil Street, Limerick, on June 29th.

He is further charged with two counts of possession of ammunition on the same date.

No bail application was made at Limerick District Court yesterday.

Judge Tom O'Donnell remanded Mr Radmall on continued custody until next Thursday.
