A man arrested in connection with inquiries into the ‘Real IRA’ bombing campaign in Britain was today released without charge.

The 19-year-old man was released after being questioned in connection with an ongoing antiterrorism operation at a disused pig farm in West Ardsley, near Leeds.

A 25-year-old man arrested in connection with the same incident is still in custody at a police station in Leeds.

The suspect was detained under the Terrorism Act on Saturday afternoon at the Woodhall services on the M1 in South Yorkshire. Detectives have been granted an extension to continue questioning him until tomorrow afternoon.

Officers and an Army bomb squad began searching the disused pig farm last Thursday as part of an investigation into an 18-month ‘Real IRA’ bombing campaign in Britain.

Detectives in London are continuing to question six suspects arrested last Thursday as part of a "lengthy investigation" into dissident republican groups.

The group are aged between 20 and 40. One is thought to be from the Irish Republic, while the rest are believed to be from England.

Five were arrested at addresses in London and one in Liverpool.
