Man killed in Tandragee 100 race

An Irish motorcyclist has been killed while taking part in a road race in Co Armagh.

An Irish motorcyclist has been killed while taking part in a road race in Co Armagh.

Martin Finnegan (29), from Lusk, Co Dublin, was on the second lap of a 600cc race in the Tandragee 100 when the crash occured at Marlacoo Corner close to Marlacoo Lake at about 2pm today.

The married father of one was racing for the JMF Millsport Yahama team.

Race organisers abandoned the rest of the meeting as a mark of respect following the incident.

Three spectators, two men and a woman, were also injured in the incident, although none are thought to be critical. The woman was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries.

Last year, veteran motorbike rider John Donnan, 42, was killed as he tried to avoid another rider who had lost control of his bike.
