A man was charged yesterday with attempted murder following a weekend stabbing in Belfast.

A man was charged yesterday with attempted murder following a weekend stabbing in Belfast.

Mr John Crolly (36), from Parkmore Street, in the Ormeau Road area of Belfast, was alleged to have stabbed a man in the chest with a kitchen knife. He was remanded in custody for a week.

Mr Norman Shannon, defending, said Mr Crolly denied the charge and would be applying for bail in the High Court today.
