An 18-year-old man is still being questioned this morning over the stabbing of a 23-year-old man in Waterford city in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The victim received wounds to his neck, face and back in the incident, which took place shortly after 4am on Johns Street, and was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.
The 18-year-old was arrested a short time later close by at Jenkins Lane car park.
Questioning resumed this morning after a rest period overnight. He is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Waterford Garda Station.
