A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a mother of two in Co Derry.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a mother of two in Co Derry.

The move follows the discovery of the body of Gillian Doherty (43) at her home at Mill Road, Portstewart, Co Derry earlier today.

Police believe she was the victim of a domestic row. Mrs Doherty was the second stabbing victim to die in Northern Ireland in 24 hours.

Detectives are still questioning a man after Thomas Moore (60) died when he was attacked at a flat in Dufferin Avenue, Bangor, Co Down.
