An unemployed 18-year-old man was remanded in custody yesterday charged with a series of traffic offences following a fatal road traffic accident in east Cork in which a child died.

Mr Brian McGinn from Drishane, Killeagh, Co Cork is charged with unlawful use of a car, driving without insurance and having no driving licence at Castlemartyr on August 27th.

Judge Terence Finn refused bail and remanded McGinn to appear again at Mallow District Court on Monday.
