A man has been found guilty of murdering a Kilkenny postmaster following a robbery last year.

A man has been found guilty of murdering a Kilkenny postmaster following a robbery last year.

Shu Shen (25), a Chinese national formerly of The Old Rectory, New Ross, Co Wexford had admitted the manslaughter of Alan Cunniffe (32) on December 8th, 2006. He had denied murder.

Shen also pleaded guilty to stealing money over the value of €13,000 from the post office on John's Green in Kilkenny and being in possession of a firearm with intent to commit robbery in relation to the same incident.

The Central Criminal Court jury of six men and six women found Shen guilty of murder today after deliberating for over an hour.
