Aidan Myers (37), of Cox's Demesne, Dundalk, Co Louth, was murdered by a gang who attempted to hijack a car in which he was a passenger in December of 2006.

He was attacked by gang members who went on a cross-Border crime rampage in south Armagh and Co Louth. During the spree they hijacked a number of cars before ramming the vehicle which contained Mr Myers and a friend.

A row took place on the roadside following the collision, during which Mr Myers was killed. He was found lying on the road by gardaí when they arrived at the scene some time later. His friend was also injured.

A Garda spokesman said a 21-year-old man will appear at Dundalk District Court tomorrow morning charged with the murder of Mr Myers.
